In the following three sub sections I will guide you through the three different acts. A lot of fights are thrash mobs that won't bother you too much but for those bigger fights I will come up with some strategies that worked for me.
Keep in mind that if you decide to use the Black Emporium DLC, the game is going to be a lot easier. Especially in this set up the dog is like a 5th party member, a little tank.
On my last run I didn't use the dog and any green items. Overall it's still very managable, it just takes a little patience sometimes to figure the more difficult fights out.
